WePAC, a non-profit organization in Philadelphia, mobilizes volunteers to reopen libraries and provide academic mentoring in Philadelphia public schools. In partnership with WePAC, Helping Hands Club is running a book drive to rebuild a public library in West Philadelphia.

The goal of the book drive is to replenish the book stocks in the West Philly public library. The book drive welcomes donations from every member of the community. All kinds of books are useful, but they especially need books for kids from kindergarten through 6th grade. The drive will run through February and possibly longer depending on how many books are collected.

Zoe Tzanis, one of the leaders in the club, says, “ We are expecting to get a lot of books. This is a cause we really care about. We want to make an impact and are going to get the books to do so.”

There are boxes with “Book Drive” tags around the school where books can be donated, including the second floor right beside the entrance of the stairs. Alternatively, they can be brought to Deborah or Rachel Luce, Mia Cohen, Carly Sigel, or Zoe Tzanis
