Senior class officers announced yesterday that this year’s prom will be based on the Despicable Me villain, Vector.

“With all the pandemic-induced restrictions on school events this year, we really wanted to find a creative way to make prom exciting,” says class officer Sarah Goldberg ‘21.

“There’s nothing more exciting than direction and magnitude,” adds C.C. Servon ‘21, quoting Vector’s catchphrase from the movie.

The news is in keeping with the class of 2021’s Vector-themed holiday decorations from junior year, pictured above. That hallway is widely regarded as the best-decorated hallway in recent Friends Select history, though the judging committee passed it over for the class of 2022.

According to class officer Olivia Shuman ‘21, the prom will not only have an orange, Vector-inspired tent and decorations for prom, but the school will also provide orange tracksuits for students to wear in place of the traditional dress or suit.

Peter Ryan ‘21 will reprise his role as Gru.
