Students from Friends Select School (FSS) were among the thousands who attended the Eagles’ recent Championship parade, showing their pride and support for the team. Ninth through twelfth graders joined the sea of fans in celebration of the Eagles’ Super Bowl victory.
Ninth grader Isaiah Mogerman described the excitement at the parade, saying, “It was loud; everyone was screaming, especially when A.J. Brown and Jalen Hurts came by.” He said he was thrilled to be part of the crowd, excitedly taking in the energy as the players passed by, representing a team that had brought immense pride to Philadelphia
Tenth grader Jack Gunther, attending with friends, mentioned the overwhelming crowd along South Broad Street. “We walked around on South Broad, and it was so crowded that we couldn’t see each other,” Jack said. Despite the packed streets, he described the experience as “phenomenally exciting,” a moment he would remember for years.
Some people arrived earlier downtown than others to get a better view. Junior Bryce Elie, who arrived at 12:30 pm, noted that even though they came later, they still had a great spot. “Even though we got there later than most, we still got a good view of the parade,” he explained. Bryce felt that the parade’s energy was worth the wait.
Senior Jordyn Battle shared how much the Eagles’ win meant to her personally, saying it was more than just about football. “It’s about being the underdog and still coming out on top,” she said. While she “had a blast,” she added, “It was chaos, too many people,” reflecting on how overwhelming the crowds were at times.
As Friends Select senior Jaylen Whitfield put it, “It was incredible to be part of something so big and so Philly.”
