In February, 3 other students and I spent 2 weeks in Dublin, Ireland for an exchange trip. With our hosts, we went to a lab at Dublin City University where we shadowed Dr. Kieran Nolan, a professor and researcher specializing in green chemistry. In addition to the lab tours and lectures, I visited some popular tourist spots like Trinity College, the National Gallery of Ireland, and went on the famous Viking Splash Tour. The country is very green and open, with its many mountains and grazing fields for farm animals. In the last 2 days of the trip, I shadowed my host at her all-girls boarding school called Alexandra College. Overall, this exchange program was very fun and educational; I definitely recommend it to anyone interested in lab work and exploring another country!
