Working on the musical, specifically during tech week, was probably the best part of my sophomore year. While it was difficult at times, it’s something that I wouldn’t think twice about doing again.

One of the highlights of the year, to me, was the trip to Funplex. I had a lot of fun riding the drop tower, racing on the go-karts, and hanging out with my friends. It was a fun day overall, and I hope we get to do something similar next year.

One of my highlights this year was the trip to Washington, D.C. We went to the African American History Museum and the Holocaust Memorial Museum. The bus rides were fun and a little crazy, but overall, the trip was really fun and I had an amazing time. Another one of my highlights from this year was the Field Hockey season and senior day. We weren’t the best team in the league, but the team is a supportive and fun environment. I loved traveling to games and hanging out after practice. Additionally, I liked the squash season this year. I was a new member of the team with many of my fellow sophomores. We would walk to the racquet club every day and often stop for cookies and hot chocolate! Overall, this was a great year with countless fun experiences!

The highlight of my year was working on the musical. I loved having a group of people who were always with me, and I really grew to love them. The musical this year was Curtains, a story within a story that involved murder.

This year, I really enjoyed Social Justice Week, my Advanced Drawing and Painting class, and touring colleges. I was lucky to be a part of a really fun track group where we went on some very cool trips and spoke to some inspiring people. I also had a great time in my art class this year, and we made some really cool projects. I definitely saw a large improvement in my art skills this year, and I can’t wait to see what I accomplish next year. We had a lot of fun collaborating with the Portfolio class, and I enjoyed having an environment where I could relax and have fun during stressful times. As I began my college process this year, I really enjoyed touring colleges and going on the college tour field trip with my classmates. This year was full of many fun experiences, and I’m looking forward to the events of next year.

My highlight of the school year was Harvard Model Congress. I had so much fun going on this trip with my school friends, and it helped me connect with people from other grades and schools. I was a part of the House of Reps. Foreign Affairs Committee, and we talked about different international issues. I learned a ton about how the government works and about how bills are written. I also enjoyed the other activities we did, such as eating at two different restaurants, having free time to leave the hotel, the Delegate Social, and riding the train to Boston. Even though it was super cold and the train ride was 6 hours (6 hours there and then six more hours home), it was a super enjoyable experience. My favorite part of the conference was when they had the college students dress up as celebrities to help enhance the experience, like when one boy came in dressed up as Addison Rae to talk about the Tiktok Ban in context of US-China Relations, and my favorite part that wasn’t specifically part of the conference was hanging out with new people at night like playing card games or watching sports.

One of my highlights of this year was Social Justice Week. Camping was a fun and unique experience. It was relaxing, and I felt very educated about the outdoors. I enjoyed seeing the snow and taking relaxing walks. I got to meet more people in other grades and socialize in fun ways. Another highlight was swimming because it was fun to branch out and try a new sport. It was also a way that I got closer to other people in the school. Even though I wasn’t that good, it ended up being fun, and I enjoyed making improvements.

One of the highlights of my school year was the 10th-grade Washington, DC trip. We visited the Holocaust Memorial Museum and the National Museum of African American History and Culture. It was very educational, and I had a lot of fun hanging out with my friends in our free time. Another one of my favorite moments was during Social Justice Week. I was in the Asian American Experiences track, and we went to BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham, the largest Hindu temple in the U.S., located in New Jersey. I loved the intricate architecture and the religious imagery.

For me, the highlight of the school year was starting crew. I’d never rowed before, and I was nervous beyond belief. My experience flipping the boat with Reese brought us a lot closer. Throughout the season, I gained confidence and experience.

As I reflect on my first year of high school, I realize that there have been many memories that have influenced the way I view this year. I have spoken about this before in prior articles, but the senior class of 2025 has been so supportive and loving to our grade. They have welcomed us into the atmosphere of high school academically and through sports seasons. Another wonderful highlight of my year was the Echo Hill trip that happened towards the beginning of the year. The freshman class was dominated by new kids, and it was a wonderful experience to get closer to the newer students. Although there were some traumatizing moments like the slop bucket and kayaking during a torrential downpour, we came out with new friends and memories we will remember throughout our years. This year, I believe my academics have been a highlight. I have had a smooth transition from middle school, and I am very proud of my effort and the outcome., I am excited for the years to come.

My favorite part of this school year was the Field Hockey season. It was such an amazing experience that allowed me to make new friends. Even though we didn’t have an amazing winning streak, I was excited for every game and every practice. The team atmosphere was so positive and made the season so fun. I literally could not have asked for a better group of seniors; the team won’t be the same without them. But I’m excited to see where the field hockey team goes in future seasons.

One highlight for me was Social Justice Week. I really liked learning more about drugs and opioids. I enjoyed leading the track and planning some of the lessons. It was really nice at the end of the week to look back and see everything we did. Another highlight was field hockey. The team that year was really supportive of me being new, and they were all really welcoming. I’m really looking forward to starting again in the fall with some new people, too. I also really enjoyed the Harvard Model Congress. I made a lot of new friends, and it was a really fun and educational experience. I learned so much about how Congress works.

Over the course of the school year, there were so many fun activities and events that happened. Overall, some of my favorite parts of the year included the clubs I participated in and service days. I really enjoyed the volleyball club and speech and debate, particularly, and they were both new clubs this year! Volleyball consisted of weekly meetings where we would all play for fun, so it was very low-stakes and enjoyable. In speech and debate, we practiced our public speaking skills, observed a debate at Penn, and even competed in a debate tournament towards the end of the year. I was really proud to see both of these clubs flourish and grow. I also loved the service days I completed, where I went to places such as Cradles to Crayons and SEAMAAC. I felt like all of these experiences were really rewarding and not only taught me about other perspectives, but were genuinely fun as well. All in all, my freshman year has included some really great experiences that have had me gain perspective, have fun, and learn more about myself and the world around me.
