Friends Select will transition to distance learning as a precaution against the COVID-19 pandemic starting on Monday, March 15th.

In an email released to students at 12:35pm on Thursday, Head of School Michael Gary announced that the school building may be closed for multiple weeks, possibly until April 10th. During this timeframe, all athletic events and other non-class activities will be canceled.

Michael clarified that there are no known cases of COVID-19 in the Friends Select community, but the risks and concerns surrounding the virus are great enough to warrant a transition to online classes.

Students will meet for up to two classes a day via Canvas online conferences. Homework will proceed as normal, and assessment designs have yet to be determined. More information about the upcoming school calendar may be released in the upcoming days.
