At FSS, a total of 53 students were surveyed to determine which childhood shows and channels were the most popular among students when they were 5-10 years old. The three most popular shows were Wild Kratts, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and Teen Titans Go. FSS students watched a variety of TV channels, but the most popular one amongst students was PBS Kids, with 45.3% of students citing it as their most-watched channel. Additionally, 40.3% of students reported that, as 5-10 year olds, they watched between 1-2 hours of television in a given day. These shows are a big part of a person’s childhood, and can be attributed to who we are today, even as we continue to change. One student noted that their childhood shows played a big part in their current interest, stating, “They got me interested in natural history and the natural world, which was my biggest interest for years. That eventually blossomed into my current interests.”
